For three decades, Saskatchewan residents have worked together to keep our communities clean and sustainable.
As we celebrate our 30th anniversary, we want to look back at the incredible impact of your recycling efforts, and show you where those materials go after you drop them off.
To mark this milestone, we have released a collection of five informative commercials for our anniversary campaign. Moving forward, these videos will serve as a key awareness tool to help us continue spreading the word and improving recycling collection rates across the province. Each brief video offers a step-by-step look at how used oil, filters, antifreeze, and their containers are successfully collected, recycled, and repurposed.
Here is a quick glance at what the video series covers:
- Protect Saskatchewan: Captures how engines power our province: on the road, in the shop, on the farm, and on the job site. This emphasizes a “don’t dump it, recycle it” message for all four types of DIY automotive waste we collect. Watch Video
- Used Oil: Watch how used oil is safely re-refined and transformed into high-quality new lubricants, supporting a regional circular economy and preventing environmental contamination. Watch Video
- Used Oil Filters: Discover how leftover oil is recovered and how steel filter shells are crushed and melted down into brand-new metal products instead of taking up valuable landfill space. Watch Video
- Used Antifreeze: See how used antifreeze undergoes a purification process to restore it to “like-new” quality, preparing it for another Saskatchewan winter while keeping toxic fluids out of our soil and water. Watch Video
- Used Oil, Antifreeze and DEF Containers: Find out how yesterday’s containers are turned into tomorrow’s products. Watch Video
These videos are a tribute to your everyday environmental efforts over the past thirty years. We invite you to visit our video gallery to watch the series.
Thank you for three decades helping us keep Saskatchewan beautiful and sustainable.
